Driving along Scenic Highway 17 from Jacksonville to Savannah, we just had to stop at the Smallest Church in America (otherwise known as Memory Park Christ Chapel), located in South Newport, GA. It’s small, cute, cozy, and Open 24 Hours! Inside, you’ll find a number of letters pinned up to the walls expressing people’s gratitude for the site and there are numerous notes and prayers in the guestbook. It’s a non-denominational church, so whether you are Muslim, Buddhist, or Catholic, you’re welcome to sit in the silence and solitude found within those 10ft. x 15ft. walls. However, although this church claims to be the smallest in America, it is actually just one of the many tiny churches in the United States.
